The Grenade



“Run in here!” Bullets whizzed, shots rang out. They were temporarily safe in a concrete stairway but they were closing in. “This isn’t safe,” she cried. “Listen to me now,” he shouted. “We are going to die!” She started panicking when he shook her by the shoulders then yanked her chin and looked in her eyes and yelled “stop it! We have to take some of them with us!” She went blank. “I have a grenade he said.” 
“No no” she cried, “we can run.” 
He calmly said “we wouldn’t kill any of them. We have to use the grenade.” 
“But…” 
“We are going to surrender then use the grenade.”
